OUR Programs

(REACH) 4 Rangelands

Rangelands sustains pastoralism, an important lifeline for communities, and wildlife that is an integral part of conservancies. LANCCI’s REACH 4 Rangelands is an ambitious venture that looks to see the restoration of rangelands, protection of the existence of natural resources, repairing damages and reversing trends that contribute to destruction of the ecosystem, within the Laikipia North Community lands. Through the REACH 4 Rangelands project we engage in clearing of invasive species and reseeding of indigenous grasses to rehabilitate rangelands for sustainable rangelands.

Livelihoods Revitilization

At LANCCI we see conservation from the lens of empowered livelihoods. Therefore, we complement the pastoral livelihoods of vulnerable communities through interventions such as regulated and profitable livestock.

LOCALIZING CONSERVATION KNOWLEDGE

Rooted in the belief for the respect of Indigenous and Traditional knowledge and practice, LANCCI’s LOCALIZE is a Conservation Education Initiative whose mandate is deconstructing scientific knowledge and conservation models; merging them with existing indigenous models and communicating it to Communities. This program is implemented in communities and bolstered through a school conservation program that we run in schools in Laikipia North.
